Are political ideologies necessary?

That is because that is what Liberals/Democrats and Conservative/Republicans are all about...not being legislative bodies. They are not necessary except to entrench politicians and force citizens to believe in it. Exp. Republicans convinced, convinced Firemen and Police they were their friend and the Dems. were soft on crime until these two groups lost pension monies and some states wanted to destroy collective bargaining. Exp Democrats convinced people they weren't soft on the military and terrorism and now believe they should stop Afghanistan and Iraq because the job is finished, no not quite to reduce monies from military expenditures. They think Republicans are really with them, what fools.
